APL Ration Card can be obtained within minutes through Aadhar Card from Jan 9

Bengaluru: For the first time in India, residents of Karnataka can obtain APL ration card through online within minutes from January 09 onwards. According to the new system, APL card can be obtained by sitting in your home, providing Aadhar Card number and other details via online to the food and civil supply department system.
Speaking to the reporters here at Vikasa Soudha in the state capital, Minister for Food and Civil Supply UT Khader said, “Any one can obtain APL ration card from in any part of Karnataka by providing Aadhar Crad number to the system. The ration card will be provided within seconds to the Aadhar card holder and print out of a copy of the ration card can be taken.”
If the applicant wants to get permanent card then he should mention the same in the virtual application to be filled by him to avail the ration card. The permanent ration card will be sent by the department through speed post within a time span of 15 days to the applicant. The applicant should remit Rs 100 to the post man avail the ration card. The new felicity can be accessed through http://ahara.kar.nic.in.
