No new name for Lokayukta: State Govt

Bengaluru: Karnataka state government has decided to give clarification to the Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala on corruption allegations made against Justice Vishwanath Shetty. In a state cabinet meeting on Wednesday, it was decided not to recommend a new name for Lokayukta top post other than Justice Vishwanath Shetty.
Earlier, the state government had recommended Justice Vishwanath Shetty as new Lokayukta to governor. However, the governor had returned the recommendation file to the government seeking clarification on corruption allegations made against Justice Shetty as there where corruption allegations against Justice Shetty by some social activists for holding land in the state capital.
