Padma Vibhushan for Pawar, M.M. Joshi; Kohli to get Padma Shri

New Delhi: Former Union Minister Sharad pawar and senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi have been made it to the list of Padma awards announced on Wednesday.

Veteran plyback singer K.J. Yesudas, late Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, late Lok Sabha Speaker P.A. Sangma, late Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Sunder Lal Patwah will also be accorded the second highest civilian honour.

Virat Kohli and Olympic Bronze-medallist Sakshi Malik are among awardees of Padma Shri this year. Also, Olympian Dipa Karmakar, Indore’s Bhakti Yadav known as ‘Doctor Dadi’, AIDS crusader Suniti Solomon among ‘unsung’ Padma Shri awardees. 

Captain of Indian cricket team of blind Shekhar Naik and Paralympian Mariyappan Thangavelu have made it to the list.
