Miscreants damage Jain Temple tower at Koppa in Chikkamagaluru District

Koppa: Miscreants have damaged a tower located before Panchamikallu Jain temple near Megunda at Koppa taluk in Chikkamagaluru district on Tuesday. The members of the Jain community have registered a complaint on the incident at Jayapura police station and the police have visited the spot for an inquiry. Meanwhile, the locals suspect that the tower may have damaged by the persons who visited the spot in the name of valentines day celebrations. 

The history of the Jain temple located at Panchamikallu in Megunda is dates back to 800 years.  The locals believe that five Jain saints were attained salvation here long before. Padmavathi Devi fest is being organised in the presence of thousands of devotees once a year here at Panchamikallu.
