Class 7 student accused of stealing Rs 100 ends life in Mysuru

Mysuru: In a shocking incident reported from Mysuru, a teenager committed suicide after he was accused of stealing Rs 100 from a classmate.

Pavan, a 13-year-old, class seven student had taken Rs 100 from his friend’s bag and spent Rs 30. However, after realizing his mistake, he returned the money. But the school authorities summoned the boy’s father and informed him of the incident. The man then shouted at Pavan, which is said to be the reason the boy took the extreme step.

It is said that Pavan, collected his house key from a neighbour and then hung himself from the ceiling. Police sources said that Pavan was in his school uniform when he committed suicide.

Pavan’s father filed a complaint alleging that his son was humiliated by the school authorities.
