Mysuru: Mysuru police have arrested six accused in connection with a honey trap case on March 09 here in Mysuru city. The arrested have been identified as Yusaf (40), a resident of Shankarapura of Chikkamagaluru, Latheef (29) of Irritty, Noushad (39) from Thalaseery of Kerala and Bengaluru based Rashid (32). The police have taken two girls Hina (22) from Mysuru and Virajapet resident Anitha (32) into their custody who played a major role in the honey trap.

Kerala based 50 year old jewelry merchant TV Nizar residing in Mysuru received a miss call from Hina a month earlier and following the miscall the merchant called her back to know the caller. When Hina attended the call from the merchant, she said that the call was made by mistake and apologizing for the miss call a conversation was held between the two. After two three days, Hina introduced her friend Anitha to the merchant and later trio decided to spend a day together in Mysuru. After some discussions the three met at a hotel in Mysuru nearly month earlier. The two girls took the video when the merchant was spending his happy time with them.

Hina handed over the videos to Noushad who is the master mind in the case and had given the cell phone number of the merchant to Hina to shed the merchant into honey trap. After obtaining the videos, Nousahd made a DVD and sent to the merchant through courier asking the merchant to handover Rs 1 crore. The accused also warned the merchant that the video would be uploaded in social media if he fails to hand over Rs 1 crore to him.

Following the threat, the merchant agreed to pay Rs 25 lakh and invited him to a hotel in Mysuru on March 09 and also filed a complaint before the city police. When the accused arrived to get money from the merchant, the police arrested him and collected information on others to nab them.  The police have taken cell phones, a car and DVDs from the accused.
