Drone Flight Demo for Cloud Seeding held in Udupi

Udupi: An experimental drone flight was conducted for cloud seeding at Ajjarakadu stadium in Udupi on Sunday in an attempt to make cloud seeding as cost effective and environment friendly. Inaugurating the a demo flight, Karnataka State Minister for Fisheries and Youth Affairs Pramod Madhwaraj said that, “a cost effective cloud seeding tool is essential in Karnataka state as severe water shortage prevailing each and every part of Karnataka.”
Appreciating the team which took initiatives for such an experiment, the minister said that he is ready to introduce them state agriculture minister and other concerned top level authorities as such a new experiment requires necessary permission from the government to implement and utilise the same. Retired ISRO Scientist Janardhana Rao, Project Manager Karunakara Nayak and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
