Anganwadi Workers in Karnataka Withdraw their Strike after Meeting with Chief Minister

Bengaluru: Anganawadi workers have decided to withdraw their protest against Karnataka state government following a meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday noon. The chief minister has assured the leaders of the workers’ union that the government will call a meeting on April 19 to discuss the issues raised by the Anganwadi workers and assistants. The workers have demanded to raise their salary to Rs 10, 000 per month along with other benefits. The workers were continued to protest against the government for a second day on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday morning, more than 10,000 Anganwadi workers have decided to join the protesters in Bengaluru from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Shivamogga district to support around 15, 000 Anganwadi workers who had been protesting in Bengaluru for the last two days.
