Goa: British national found dead in gym, police suspect death unnatural

Calangute: A 58-year old British national was found dead after he collapsed while exercising in a gym at Goa’s Calangute yesterday.

The Calangute Police have registered the unnatural death of the British national named Paul Gerrard Atkinson.

The ambulance was called but Atkinson died on the way to hospital.

The enquiry conducted by the police so far has revealed that the deceased foreigner was staying in a guest house in Maddowado, Calangute and had joined the gym in February and was a regular visitor there.

The police shifted the body in GMC Morgue for preservation and to perform post mortem examination.

The British embassy has also been informed to contact the relatives of the deceased.

Further enquiry is in progress.
