344 paramilitary personnel committed suicide in 3 years: Govt

New Delhi: As many as 344 paramilitary personnel have committed suicide and 25 others were killed in different fratricide in last three years, Lok Sabha was informed on Tuesday.
Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju said among all suicides in paramilitary forces, 109 personnel died in 2014, 97 personnel died in 2015 and 82 in 2016.
In 2017, 15 personnel have committed suicide so far, he said.
Rijiju said those who committed suicide in last three years include three gazetted officers, 38 subordinate officers and 303 belonging to other ranks.
Among the 25 fratricides, 10 died in 2014, six died in 2015, six died in 2016 and three died in 2017 so far, the Minister said in a written reply.
