K’taka: Former CMs Dharam Singh, Kumaraswamy booked in mining scam

Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Wednesday registered cases against former Chief Ministers Dharam Singh and H D Kumaraswamy with regard to the illegal mining in the state.

Cases were registered against 11 other officials: Jija Hari Singh, M Basappa Reddy, Gangaram Baderiya, Shankarlingaiah, V Umesh, I Perumal, D S Ashwath, Mahendra Jain, K Srinivas, M Ramappa and K S Manjunath.

The cases were registered as per directions from the Apex Court issued on March 29. The SIT has been asked to complete probe within three months.

Former CMs Dharam Singh and Kumaraswamy were accused of allowing mining in reserved forests in Ballari.
