Madikeri: A court in Somwarpet on Tuesday dismissed a sedition case filed against Kannada actor and former MP Ramya after it found no sufficient evidence to prove the charges.
Ramya, after her return from Pakistan had said that it was a peaceful country, good and affectionate.
A complaint of sedition was filed in 2016 by K V Gowda, a lawyer. He alleged that the actor insulted India by calling Pakistan a lovable and good country and requested the court to direct the police to register a complaint against the former MP.
Following the petition, a case was registered in a local court here. Meanwhile, the petitioner has said that he would approach the higher court for justice.
