Karnataka PU Results Out; Records 4.82% Drop from Last Year

Bengaluru: Karnataka Department of Pre-University Education has announced Pre University examination results conducted for 2016-17 academic year on Thursday afternoon.Out of 6.50 lakh students who appeared for the final exams, 52.38% have been passed their exams. The number of students passed this year is 4.82% less compared to the last year’s percentage. Udupi (90.01%), Dakshina Kannada (89.92%) and Uttara Kannada (71.99%) districts obtained first, second and third positions in the state level. Meanwhile, Bidar recorded worst pass percentage.
Science stream recorded a pass percentage of 60.71% followed by Commerce with 60.09% pass percentage. Out of 52.38% passed students include 60.28% girls and 44.47% boys.The total number of students who passed with distinction is stands at 45983 while 192012 managed to pass their PU examination with first class.
Candidates can log on to http://www.pue.kar.nic.in or http://karresults.nic.in to view the results published.
Supplementary examinations will be held from June 28 to July 8, 2017. Last date to obtain a duplicate copy of the answer paper is May 19 whereas students can apply for scanned copy of their answer book till May 19. PU board will accept applications for revaluation till May 24. The candidates who appear for supplementary examinations should remit the exam fee before June 23.
Karnataka state Primary and Secondary Education Department Minister Tanveer Sait officially declared the exam result in a press conference held at PU Department office in Bengaluru on Thursday. This year, PU examinations held from March 9 to 27 at 988 exam centers in the state and a total of 6.50 lakh candidates appeared for the examinations conducted.
