Bengaluru: CM Siddaramaiah and others from the Indian National Congress Party would have been in trouble with charges against them had not the Lokayukta be weakened, B S Yeddyurappa said on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference in Bengaluru, BJP State President, Yeddyurappa blamed CM Siddaramaiah for deliberately “destroying” the institution of Lokayukta and replacing it with a “dummy” authority.
Reacting to Siddaramaiah’s recent statement that Yeddyurappa had no moral right to comment on the government since there were several charge sheets against him and that he was out of jail on bail, the BJP leader only said, “Its okay. Good.”
Siddaramaiah quoted a few examples connected to the Matrix Imaging Solutions Pvt Ltd owned by CM’s son, Yathindra, corruption in rural development and panchayat raj department, water resources department, PWD and others.
He also mentioned a few comparisons where a few grants released by his government and the current one to different sectors. He stated that except a couple of departments, in all departments, BJP government had given more grants in comparison to the Siddaramaiah government.
