Chitradurga: Death of Karnataka cadre IAS officer Anurag Tiwari who deputed as commissioner at Karnataka state food and civil supplies and consumer affairs department is not accidental instead it is a murder. Therefore, the state government should hand over the case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to nab the murderers immediately, said Karnataka State BJP President BS Yeddyurappa (BSY) speaking in Chitradurga on Friday. If the state government fails to do so then, the union government would hand over the case to CBI to identify and arrest the killers, he pointed out.
“The deceased was to expose Rs 2000 crore scam in his department and following his unexpected move some unidentified persons from Karnataka murdered the officer to prevent him from exposing the truth when he was on his Uttar Pradesh (UP) visit”, BSY added.
Meanwhile, speaking in Madhugiri, Karnataka State JD(S) President HD Kumaraswamy said, “Anurag Tiwari’s mysterious death discussed in the UP assembly session on the second day of his death. Some of the political leaders in UP opined that Tiwari might have murdered in the state to stop him from exposing a corruption scandal by his department officials and politicians.
