All Tourists from Karnataka Stranded after Landslide in Uttarakhand are Safe: Sources

Badrinath/Bengaluru: As many as 120 Kannadigas from Karnataka rescued and sent safe zone after a landslide in Uttarakhand halted vehicle traffic on the highway connecting Badrinath with Haridwar. As many as 120 tourists from various parts of the state including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Bengaluru, Mysuru and others were on their visit to tourist hot spots, religious places in Uttarakhand when the landslide took place.

All Kannadiags remained at Anantha Mutt and Dwaraka hotel in the state till vehicular traffic reestablished on the route on Saturday late evening.  Meanwhile, Karnataka Bhavana in New Delhi clarified that all Kannadigas from Karnataka stranded in Uttarakhand are safe and they are expected to return their home town within two three days.

Karnataka state revenue department is also in touch with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to gather information on the tourists. Relatives of the tourists or those who are facing any issue can contact the control room at 1070/ 080 22340676.
