Police Arrest 8 Karnataka Bandh Supporters for Pelting Stones in Kolar

Kolar: As many as 8 Kannada activists arrested today, on June 12 in Kolar town inconnection with a stone pelting incidents in the wake of state wide bandh called by pro Kannada outfits today urging the union government to intervene to resolve Kalasa- Banduri, Cauvery, Mekedatu water issues immediately. The eight arrested after they pelted stones at a state run bus.
Good response was seen in Kolar town as vehicular movement on the roads stalled followed by shutdown of shops, commercial establishments, government offices and others. Kolar Deputy Commissioner Dr KV Thrilokachandra has declared holiday for schools and colleges in the district. Police have elaborate security arrangements have been made to prevent any unpleasant incidents in the wake of bandh called.
