Udupi/Bengaluru: Hindu organisations including Sri Rama Sena, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Hindu Maha Sabha and others organized protests on Sunday in Udupi, Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Kalburgi and various parts of Karnataka state against Udupi Pejawar Seer Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji for organizing iftar and namaz at Udupi Sri Krishna Matha last month for the members of muslim community. Sri Rama Sena workers shouted slogans and protested against Pejawar Seer and his followers in the streets of Udupi also.
Protesting in the state capital, Sri Rama Sena leader Pramod Muthalik said, he and his organization members weren’t protesting against communal harmony instead, iftar and namaz organized at the premises of Udupi Sri Krishna Matha. If Sri Krishna Matha dares to organize this kind of events again in its premises in the future then, the Seer and his companions would be forced to face severe consequences, Muthalik warned.
Pramod Muthalik further noted, holy Udupi Sri Krishna Matha shouldn’t have organized such an event for those who kill cows for food in the worship place of Lord Sri Krishna, protector cows. “Is it possible for us (Hindus) to offer our prayer to a Hindu God in a mosque?,” Muthalik questioned.
