BJP Leaders Attack Karnataka CM for Inaction on Communal Violence in Dakshina Kannada

Tumkur/Shivamogga: Karnataka state government has failed to control communal violence in Bantwal and its neighbouring regions in Dakshina Kannada district and has been supporting communal forces in the district, said Union Minister for Statistics and Programme Implementation DV Sadananda Gowda speaking in Tumkur here on Saturday.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah himself has the charge of state home ministry after Dr G Parameshwara resigned as state home minister last month. However, chief minister hasn’t yet called a review meeting even if Bantwal taluk is being hit by communal violence for the last 46 days, minister added.

Meanwhile, Karnataka senior BJP leader, leader of opposition at state legislative council KS Eshwarappa has criticised state government’s inaction on communal violence in Bantwal of Dakshina Kannada. Speaking to the media persons here in Shivamogga on Saturday, he said that, RSS workers, BJP activists and even innocent people are being slaughtered by communal forces, however the state government is keeping a blind eye on the issue, he added.

The statements from both BJP leaders came in the wake of the death of RSS worker Sharath (28) on Friday at a hospital in Mangaluru after he was attacked by unknown assailants on July 4 in his home town BC Road.
