Janthakal Mining Scam: Karnataka High Court Extends Interim Bail Granted to HDK

Bengaluru: Karnataka high court on Thursday in an order extended interim bail granted to former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy (HDK) to another two weeks after an anticipatory bail petition filed by HDK inconnection with his alleged role in Janthakal Mining Scam.

Advocate who represented Special Investigation Team (SIT) which investigates the scam said, Supreme Court earlier rejected a petition filed by HDK to stall investigation into the mining scam and based on the Apex Court order the High Court shouldn’t extend bail to former chief minister as he played a major role in the scam.

Hearing the arguments of both sides, a single member bench of the court asked HDK to handover the Apex Court order which rejected his pea to stall investigation into the scam and extended his interim bail for another 15 days.
