Bengaluru/Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in a letter to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that Kerala government is ready to bear the security expenses of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Abdul Nasser Madani’s security expenses to support him to attend the marriage ceremony of his son scheduled.

Madani, who is in jail in Karnataka inconnection with Bengaluru serial bomb blast case,  was planned to move Kerala to attend the marriage ceremony after a necessary order from the court on the matter.

However, Karnataka state police department asked the convict and others to pay Rs 14.79 lakh as the cost of security arrangements to be made to send him to Kerala.

Subsequently, Kerala unit of PDP brought the matter to the attention of Kerala chief minister as Madani is unable to bear his security expenses. Following the request from the party, Pinarayi Vijayan informed Karnataka minister that Kerala state government will bear the cost of his security arrangements and requested Karnataka government to reduce the projected cost of Rs 14.79 lakh.
