Govt Fixes August 15 as Deadline to Finish Works of 55 Indira Canteens in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Karnataka state government has set deadline to complete the construction works of 55 Indira Canteens by August 15. The deadline has been fixed as Karnataka chief minister is scheduled to inaugurate much awaited Indira Canteen project on August 15, 2017.

According to a decision earlier, the state government had decided to complete the construction works of 125 canteens by August 15, however construction works of 70 canteens have been finished as of now and the works of remaining canteens yet to be finished.

Meanwhile, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has decided to open Indira Canteen in its all 198 wards. As many as 125 canteens are expected to be open on August 15 while remaining canteens likely to be launched on October 2, 2017.
