Karnataka Lokayukta Yet to Get Details of Properties from 67 MLAs

Bengaluru: As many as 67 MLAs and MLCs in Karnataka haven’t yet filed information on their properties and transactions to Lokayukta. Earlier, Lokayukta had asked all members of state legislature to file details on their properties and transaction by the end of June 30 for the financial year 2016-17.

However, 67 members of legislature including JDS state president HD Kumaraswamy, legislative assembly speaker KB Koliwad, HD Revanna, Ashok Kheni, MLCIvan D’souza and other leaders are yet to file information on their properties before Lokayukta.

Lokayukta is reportedly taken the negligence of 67 members of state legislature seriously and planning to serve notice to all concerned respondents. As a next move, Lokayukta is very likely to recommend the governor to withheld salary and other allowances of all 67 members of state legislature.  As per Lokayukta Act, Section 22(1)(2) all MLAs and MLCs should handover information on their properties to Lokayukta.
