Counterfeit Stamp Paper: Davangere Police Arrest One, Seize Documents, Computer

Davangere: Davangere police arrested a youth inconnection with a counterfeit stamp paper case in a raid on Wednesday in Davangere town. The incident reported in stamp paper selling unit owned by Davangere District Farmers’ Association President Devaraj Mallapur. The unit reportedly was used to sell 30 to 50 counterfeit e-stamp papers on daily basis to the customers.
The police arrested a computer operator inconnetion to the case and have seized a computer system, counterfeit stamp papers and others from the unit. The police suspect that a huge network might have been working behind the scene to sell counterfeit stamp papers in the district. The locals have urged the police to investigate the case to crack the counterfeit stamp paper network and arrest the culprits. Police investigation is in progress and further details are awaited.
