Aadhar was compatible with Right to Privacy says Chidambaram

New Delhi: The Aadhaar we conceived was perfectly compatible with the Right to Privacy said P Chidambaram.
“It is the interpretation of this government of Artilce 21 which is an invasion of Right to Privacy,” he added.
The Supreme Court had ruled that the right to privacy is an intrinsic part of Article 21 (right to life and liberty) under part III of the Constitution.
The nine-judge bench overruled two previous judgements that said the right to privacy is not a fundamental right.
The apex court’s decision would now be used by those challenging Aadhaar for what they claimed that the card issued by the UIDAI compromised with the citizens right to privacy for forcing them to part their internal body details.
