Bengaluru: Janata Dal (Secular) President H.D. Deve Gowda has restructured the party organisation and formed seven core committees headed by senior leaders.

The restructuring included appointment of leaders, new vice-presidents, general secretaries, secretaries, joint secretaries, and organising secretaries for all the 30 districts.

Adaguru H. Vishwanth, who quit the Congress and joined the JD(S) recently, has been appointed as the president of publicity committee. Bandeppa Kashampur and H.C. Neeravari will head the parliamentary and political affairs committees, respectively. Kupendra Reddy will head the Bengaluru city monitoring committee.

JD(S) state president H.D. Kumaraswamy will focus on the northern part of the State while his father will take care of the southern parts.

The party will finalise its candidates for the Assembly elections by November this year.

HD Kumaraswamy is currently in Israel to study the innovative agricultural practices in the country.

H.D. Deve Gowda said the JD(S) is rethinking continuing its support for the Congress in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), where the Mayoral polls are due in a month.
