Swaraj to attend Indian Ocean Conference in Lanka

Colombo (Sri Lanka): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj landed in Colombo to attend two-day Indian Ocean Conference today.
Sri Lanka today welcomed Sushma Swaraj’s visit to the nation to attend the Conference.
During her visit, Swaraj will be calling on the President of Sri Lanka, Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
Swaraj will address the inaugural session of the two-day Indian Ocean Conference. India Foundation, a Delhi-based think tank, will host the Indian Ocean Conference 2017 (IOC) in collaboration with Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Singapore, and National Institute of Fundamental Studies (NIFS), Colombo – both research and study centers – and the theme of the conference is peace, progress and prosperity.
There will be ministerial representation from Bangladesh, Japan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Vietnam and the conference will also be attended by senior officials from the USA, Australia, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Germany, Kenya, South Korea and Afghanistan among others, India Foundation had said in a statement.
