Bengaluru: Ignoring the State Government’s order against the ‘Mangaluru Chalo’ bike rally, BJP workers arrived at Bengaluru’s Freedom Park this morning to support the cause from the State Capital.

BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa who was supposed to flag the event heeded to the Bengaluru police advise not to leave his residence fearing a possible attack on him.

BJP Leaders such as Shobha Karandlaje and others participated in the rally demanding a ban on SDPI, PFI outfits, resignation of Mangaluru district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai and justice for murdered Hindu activists.

The rally was flagged off by R Ashok at Freedom Park this morning. He said that the BJP will continue to organise such rallies seeking justice for Hindus.

There were also clashes between the BJP men and police at the Freedom Park after party leaders and workers gathered there.
Addressing the media CM Siddaramiah said that he is not against rallies but having a bike rally will create a lot of traffic problems. He suggested them to have a march instead of going on bikes. He also stated that he will join BJP in their march until New Delhi if issue of loan waivers from nationalized banks was taken up from the Cenral Government.

State police have detained several activists at Hubballi, Kolar when they tried to kick off the rally.
