Truck driver, owner burnt to death after collision in UP

Muzaffarnagar (UP) : A truck caught fire after colliding with a vehicle on the Meerut-Karnal highway here, charring to death the driver and the owner, police said today. The accident took place last night near Kabaraut village in Shamli district, SHO Avinash Gotem said.
The deceased were identified as 28-year-old truck owner Pankaj and 38-year-old driver Manoj, both from Delhi’s Govindpuri. A case has been registered against unknown persons as the driver of the other vehicle is absconding, Gotem said. The truck, carrying goods, was going to Ghaziabad from Punjab.
The half-burnt bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem, police said, adding that the probe is on.
