SIT Begins Investigation into Brutal Murder of Gauri Lankesh

Bengaluru: Inspector General of Police (IGP) BK Singh led 21 member special investigation team (SIT) has began its investigation into the brutal murder of social activist, senior journalist Gauri Lankesh on Thursday in Bengaluru. SIT has visited the residence of Gauri Lankesh, her office and other areas in the state capital and intensified its search for evidences inconnection with the case.

Police department formed SIT after a meeting with Karnataka Chief Minister, Home Minister and others on Wednesday to nab the culprits behind the scene. Two police officers visited the office of Gauri lankesh located in Basavanagudi while some others called on the residence of the deceased located at RR Nagar and searched for bullet pieces, blood marks and others.
