Karnataka Becomes First State in the Country to Implement Electric Vehicle Policy

Bengaluru: Karnataka state government has implemented country’s first electric vehicle policy in an attempt to promote electrical vehicles in the state. In a state cabinet meeting held in Bengaluru on Wednesday the government has approved Karnataka Electric Vehicle and Energy Policy 2017 to promote the electric vehicles and exempt the buyers from taxation.
The companies which produce spares parts, batteries and others will also be granted special discounts and grants to promote electric vehicles in Karnataka.
