Bengaluru: The state excise minister R B Thimmapur has directed the state excise department to fix functional timings for the bar and restaurants.
He has made it clear that liquor outlets will not be allowed to open before 8 am. He warned the bars as well as officials of the department that in case of violation of rules regarding business hours, the liquor vendors as well as officials of the department will face action.
R B Thimmapur also informed that as per the Supreme Cour order, 789 wine shops have been shifted from road side across the state. “Originally more than 3,000 wine shops were shut down as per the SC order. But now as city limits are exempted from this order, most of the wine shops are functioning,” he added
