Bengaluru: Renowned actor and National Award winner Prakash Raj on Monday said that PM Modi is ‘bigger artist’ than him and deserves a National Award for his silence on Gauri Lankesh’s murder case.
“The PM is is a bigger actor than me, I should give him my award,” the national award winning actor said at the 11th state meet of Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) youth wing of CPI(M).
“Some of those people who celebrated Gauri’s murder are followed by our Prime Minister on Twitter. We have a PM who shuts his eyes to this,” he said, adding: “Gauri’s killers have not been caught yet. But what is more disappointing is people celebrating her murder over social media spreading hatred.”
Later he commented on UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and said, “When you look at the kind of statements Adityanath makes, you don’t understand whether he’s a Chief Minister or a priest.” “Adityanath is a better actor than me. I think I must give out all my five National awards to him,” he said.
He said acting and truth can be detected easily. “As an actor, I can differentiate between acting and truth”, he added.
