Rainfall Likely to Intensify Further in Bengaluru: Weather Forecast

Bengaluru: Unexpected rains lashed Bengaluru city once again on Thursday afternoon and stalled routine life of the city residents’ temporarily. Traffic jams have been reported at Majestic, Malleshwaram, Jayanagar, BTM Layout and KR circle as artificial flood water entered into the roads. The rainfall is expected to continue and is very likely to strengthen further on Thursday evening and night, a weather forecast said.

A BMTC bus reportedly submerged in flood water on a road leading to electronic city and all the passengers have narrowly escaped from danger. All low-lying areas in the city have been submerged creating chaos among the city residents once again.

Rains accompanied by thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over coastal and south interior Karnataka and at isolated places over north interior parts of the state in the next 48 hours, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) in a weather forecast.

South West monsoon was active over south interior Karnataka in last 24 hours which ended Thursday morning.  Rainfall occurred at a few places over coastal and north interior Karnataka. T Narasipura, Maddur recorded highest rainfall of 6 cm each in the past 24 hours, IMD said.
