PM conveys Diwali greetings to INS Tarini crew

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today wished a happy Diwali to the all-women crew of naval vessel INS Tarini, currently on a mission to circumnavigate the globe.
He made a video call to the crew members of INS Tarini to wish them on behalf of the nation, Navy spokesperson Capt. D K Sharma said. Modi also wished them success in their mission, he official.
The prime minister had earlier met the crew of INS Tarini on August 16 before they embarked on the 22,100 nautical mile circumnavigation journey. INS Tarini is currently approaching its first stop in Fremantle, Australia and is expected to reach there on October 22 after covering 4770 nautical miles, said the Navy official.
“The Prime Minister also conveyed birthday greetings in advance to two of the crew Lt. Cdr. Vartika Joshi, and Lt. Payal Gupta – whose birthdays are coming up shortly,” he said.
