Karnataka PU Dept to Distribute Marks Cards Through Online System

Bengaluru: In an attempt to prevent fake certificate scandals, issues, Karnataka Department of Pre University Education has decided to distribute Pre University (PU) marks cards through an online system. The new system is aimed to provide the details of the student who completed his PU and to create a track record on his higher studies.
According to the new project initiated, PU department will collect data on educational qualifications, schools where the candidates completed his formal education, personal information and others to create a database on the students to provide information on their educational performance and to track their future programmes through online system. Under the new initiative, it is very easy to identify educational qualification of a person and his present career.
The concerned can obtain data on the students who discontinued their education after first year PU, summary on transferred students from one college to another and others through the new system being introduced by the department.
All PU colleges in the state have asked to register themselves in the new system through the online portal, http://www.kar.nic.in. The department has also asked the colleges to provide accurate information on the current students who are pursuing their education.
The new system will have strict cyber security arrangements to prevent any leakage of data. PU education department, the student, his college can only access the data and the facility is not open for the public. Meanwhile, PU department is yet to take its final decision on the distribution of online PU marks lists even if the process is being completed by the concerned authorities.
