Union Cabinet Clears Mangaluru-Bengaluru NH Corridor Project

New Delhi/Bengaluru/Mangaluru: Union cabinet in decision on Tuesday signaled green for national highway (NH) development project which also includes Bharatmala mission. With the new decision, the central government has granted its permission for a NH corridor between Mangaluru-Bengaluru under Bharatmala mission. In the first phase of the project, 20, 000 kilometer long national highway will be developed out of proposed total 34, 800 kilometer long NH development project.
The project is also includes additional 50,000 km long national highway developed under National Highway Development Project earlier. Thus, the total length of the NH project touches 83,677 kilometer and the project is expected to be completed at a cost of Rs 7 lakh crore.
