Senior Journalist arrested on charges of extortion

New Delhi: Senior journalist Vinod Verma was arrested by Police from Ghaziabad this morning for allegedly blackmailing Chhattisgarh PWD minister Rajesh Kumar.
Reports suggest he was working on an investigation against a minister in the Chhattisgarh government.
The police also seized around 300 CDs and a pen drive from his home.
Verma, a freelance journalist, was Digital Editor at Amar Ujala and also worked with the BBC.
