Bengaluru: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President Dr G Parameshwara said, any investigation agency can’t file two separate first investigation reports (FIR) inconnetion with same case. Therefore, CBI has continued previous FIR registered against Bengaluru Urban Development Minister KJ George and he need not resign as a minister. The minister was allegedly involved in the mysterious death of police officer, DYSP Ganapathi, last year.

Speaking in a press conference at KPCC office on Saturday in Bengaluru, KPCC president said, according to CRPC section 154, CBI can’t register another FIR against KJ George as a FIR already been registered at Madikeri where cop ended his life last year.

As per Apex Court order, CBI has reregistered the FIR filed last year inconnection with the death of the police officer. However, without having proper knowledge on law, BJP unnecessarily demanding the resignation of the minister, KPCC president said.

CID investigation into the death has given clean chit to the minister and CBI is expected to submit its investigation report on the allegations which stated the minister was directly responsible for mysterious death of DYSP Ganapathi and played major role to destroy all evidences which might have proved his role in the suicide of the cop.
