JDS Leader, MLA Chikkamadu Dies in Mysuru; Last Rites Today

Mysuru: JDS leader, MLA Chikkamadu (68) died following multi organ failure at a private hospital here in Mysuru on Tuesday late night. He was developed serious infection after he undergone a surgery for liver transplantation recently which caused for his death died after his 6 day long battle for life.

The deceased is survived by his two wives and four children.  Last rites of the deceased are expected to be held at Hosaramenahalli in Hunsur taluk on Wednesday afternoon.

Chikkamadu was born at Kallahalli in KR Taluk of Mysuru district. He entered into politics in 1978 and elected as MLA in 1991 for the first time to represent Hunsur constituency. In 2007 he was elected as MLC whereas in 2013 he won an election battle to become an MLA of HD Kote.
