Yogi pitches for strengthening of ties with Mauritius

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today pitched for making ties with Mauritius stronger and increase cooperation in the field of industry, investment and tourism. Speaking at a funtion in Mauritius during visit, he mentioned the long ties with the island nation which started with the arrival of people in large numbers from UP in the early 19th century for working in sugarcane fields.
People originating from UP have made a special place for themselves by contributing in the development of Mauritius, the chief minister said. According to an official spokesman here, Adityanath made an appeal to people of his state for making these ties stronger.
Uttar Pradesh and Mauritius will cooperate each other in the field of industry, investment and tourism, the chief minister said. Adityanath gave his approval for setting up a joint cultural centre in Varanasi for which he said the state government will provide land.
Inviting people to come to UP to see the birthplace of their ancestors, the Chief Minister said that it will not only encourage tourism but will also make the relations stronger. Terming Uttar Pradesh as the state with immense possibilities, the Chief Minister said that going by its size and population it is the biggest market in the country and it it very rich from tourism point of view as well.
Referring to the steps taken by his government in encouraging investment and development, the Chief Minister said several policy decisions have been taken for making the process of investment easier and cited the example of the new industrial policy.
