Flood-like situation in coastal TN

Chennai: Educational institutes in Chennai and other parts of coastal Tamil Nadu will remain shut today after heavy rains lashed the city throwing normal life out of gear.
Rains caused flooding in several parts of the city which created a chaos among motorists and vehicles on the streets had trouble reaching their destination.
On Thursday, the rain affected the movement of flights at Chennai airport and slowed down local trains on the Chennai Beach-Tambaram route. The core city and the southern suburbs bore the brunt of the rain.
IT companies have also been advised by the government to remain closed or let people work from their home due to the downpour. The weather office has warned of heavy rain today in coastal Tamil Nadu and intermittent rain in other parts of the state, however, saying that there is no need to panic.
