DSC jawan dies of cardiac arrest

Kozhikode (Ker):  A 53-year old Defence Security Corps jawan posted at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezimala in nearby Kannur district died following a cardiac arrest.

A postmortem by the Forensic Department at Pariyaram Medical College Hospital, Kannur, established that Lance Naik A M Rajeevan, a native of Kongatta village in Kannur district, died of cardiac arrest caused due to natural reasons, an INA release today said.

Rear Admiral M D Suresh, Deputy Commandant, placed a wreath on the body on behalf of the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief (South), followed by Commodore Arjun Dev Nair, Principal Director (Training), on behalf of the Commandant, officers and personnel of INA.

Rajeevan’s Platoon Commander, Subedar Ramakrishnan of INS Zamorin, would accompany the body to his native village. A guard of honour would be given by the jawan, the release added.
