Dharmasthala Temple to Celebrate Festival of Light from Today

Dharmasthala: Festival of light, Laksha Deepotsava at Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara temple in Belthangady talukhas began at the temple and its nearby areas on November 13 and will continue for the next five days. Various cultural, spiritual events have been organized to celebrate the fest with traditional and cultural values.
The temple has organized its 40th state level exhibition as part of the celebrations at Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara High School premises. The exhibition will display the rural life of Tulu Nadu and Karnataka from first day of Deepotsava.
Dharmasthala and nearby areas have been decorated with traditional and electric lamps to celebrate the festival of light. Thousands of devotees are expected to visit the temple on first day of Deepotsava and as many as 10,000 people are scheduled to hold foot walk from Ujire to Dharmasthala temple on first day of the celebrations.
The 85th convention of all regions’ is scheduled for November 16 and Karnataka State Minister Basavaraja Raya Reddy is expected to preside over the convention. Meanwhile, the 85 edition of literary convention will be inaugurated by writer Sudha Murthy on November 17. Renowned writers, artists and others are expected to take part during the six daylong events.
