Police Used Lathi in Kundapur as BJP Workers Clash with MLA Haladi Supporters

Kundapur: Parivartan Yatra being organised by Karnataka state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has witnessed tensed situation in a party convention here in Kundapur on Monday. The police reportedly lathi charged to maintain peace in the area following the minor clashes.
The incident occurred when a group of BJP workers raised slogans against independent Kundapur MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty and his followers when they reached the venue to attend the convention.
The supporters of Shetty engaged in war of words with a group of BJP workers as they raised their voice against Shetty which resulted in a minor clash between the two groups in the presence of Karnataka State BJP Unit president BS Yeddyurappa (BSY).
BSY reportedly supported Shetty and warned the group which opposed Srinivas Shetty. BSY also asked the all members to quit BJP if they raise voice against Haladi Srinivas Shetty who is all set to join BJP ahead of next state assembly elections in Karnataka.
