Belagavi: The Legislative Assembly witnessed chaos as the BJP leaders seeking the resignation of Bengaluru Development Minister K J George.

Leader of the Opposition Jagadish Shettar said the party sought to move an adjournment motion seeking the resignation of George following the CBI filing an FIR against the minister in the DySP M K Ganapathi suicide case.

Shettar said George had no right to continue in office till the CBI probe is on. The minister’s continuation in office could lead to hampering evidence, he said.

The house witnessed the heated exchange of words between treasury and opposition members when Law Minister T B Jayachandra said that the BJP notice was faulty and should be rejected as the matter was sub-judice.

BJP members staged a dharna even as Koliwad adjourned the House.
