MP Nalin Inaugurates Railway Underpass in Padil

Mangaluru: Much awaited railway underpass at Padil constructed at a cost of Rs 16.50 crore was inaugurated by Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel on Wednesday. Speaking in the inaugural session, MP said the underpass was a long pending project as some technical issues caused for the delay to complete the work as expected earlier. Nalin further added that months long monsoon season and others issues have caused to complete the project as scheduled.
The railway underpass would have inaugurated during March 2017 however inauguration was delayed as Palakkad railway division planned to start track doubling work. The inauguration of the new railway underpass is expected to bring relief to the people as it could help vehicles to take alternative routes and avoid traffic congestion on the existing two-lane road. Corporators Roopa D Bangera, Vijay Kumar, Sudhir Kumar Shetty, NHAI officer Ajith and others were present on the occasion.
