Bengaluru: A savage incident was witnessed at Ashwathanagara near Marathahalli. An elderly couple Govindan(75) and Sarojamma(62) were stabbed to death.

It has been learnt that a plan was made to demolish the house through LPG cylinder blast which apparently failed.

The incident was enlightened on Tuesday night as the neighbors traced the odor of gas leakage and informed Usha, daughter of the couple. Hence Usha rushed to her parents home and found them dead, along with valuables being burgled.

Govindan, retired employee of Bharat electronics along with his wife Sarojamma were residing at Ashwathangara. It has been learnt that Govindan owned a site in Whitefield which was under some disputes. It still remains a question whether the intention of murder was in the relation of a disputed site or the burglars were responsible for this crime.

City crime branch joint commissioner, Sathish Kumar, and deputy commissioner of Whitefield, Abdul Ahad visited the site and emphasized that investigation from all angles would be taken up. Case stands registered at Hal police station.

Further probe is on.
