Over 17 arrested for hurling stones at a Pandal

Belagavi: Over 17 persons here have been put behind bars for protesting and pelting stones here on Sunday night.

Reportedly, the incident took place at Kamat Galli when the miscreants started pelting stones at a pandal at Alavanagalli in Shahapur police station limits on Sunday night. 

The miscreants also vandalised an auto rickshaw at Kamat Galli.

After the incident took place, the BJP party leaders and members led by MLA Abhay Patil, surrounded the Shahapur police station today morning, demanding action against the miscreants, who were involved in stone pelting incident at Alavanagalli. 

However, the violence-hit areas are getting back to normalcy.
