Kaup: Former Deputy Superintendent of Police, Anupama Shenoy from Udupi who had earlier announced of contesting from Bellari is most likely to contest from Kaup constituency in the next Assembly election.
It has been reported that, although she had chosen Kudligi constituency where she had earned popularity as an honest police officer, after finding out that this happens to be a reserved constituency, she was forced to change her mind.
Speaking to a Kannada daily, Anupama who hails from Kaup said that she would choose to contest from either Ballari or Hospet constituency, in addition to Kaup. She already has undertaken door-to-door campaigning in Kaup constituency.
Anupama recently lauched a new party named Bharatiya Janashakti Congress which will focus on the fight against corruption and work to bring about “pro-environment and pro-women” policies, she said.
